iFORM Designer BETA Launch
BETA edition of form design software released
iFORM Designer (now called InForm Designer) is an essential application for anyone needing to design forms for print or electronic distribution. The software is completely free to download and use - you simply pay for and integrate the tools you need to design your forms.
The software is currently at BETA stage and available to anyone wishing to test this new concept in form design.
Sam Jones, Marketing Coordinator for Fly Software explains: "We have developed an application that is truly flexible and extremely intuitive. The tools required for designing forms are made available within iFORM Designer as iFORM Plug-ins (now called InForm Plug-ins). You simply download, install and license just the plug-ins you need for your individual form design requirements."
Fly Software's decision to use iFORM Plug-ins to provide the design functionality within iFORM Designer is two-fold:
"We had used a number of competitive form design applications in the past and found they were cluttered with so many features and tools, getting a form designed and delivered was difficult, time consuming and confusing," comments Sam. "We also considered it unreasonable that users of these products were effectively being charged for features and functionality they may never use!"
With an ever expanding range of iFORM Plug-ins, users have access to all the tools they would expect to find within a form design application but at a fraction of the cost. For example, if all you need to do is use a scanned form as a template and then incorporate text boxes where users can type information, all you require is iFORM Designer and the Text Box plug-in costing just $5.
If an iFORM Plug-in is used within iFORM Designer, all resulting forms will have a Fly Software watermark displayed until the associated plug-in is licensed. "This allows users to try the functionality of iFORM Designer and any iFORM Plug-in for free and without restriction" comments Sam. "Only when the watermark needs to be removed do the necessary iFORM Plug-in licenses need to be purchased."
All forms designed using iFORM Designer can be opended, filled in, saved, printed and exported to PDF using the freely available iFORM Filler (now called InForm Filler).
"We give iFORM Filler away for free because we want to make all forms designed using iFORM Designer accessible by everyone," explains Sam. "We even encourage users of iFORM Designer to distribute iFORM Filler alongside the forms they have designed. After all, there is no point designing a form if the intended recipients can't freely use it!"
Sam concludes: "Everyone at Fly Software is extremely happy with the way iFORM Designer and iFORM Filler have developed. We all feel that we have produced two exciting applications that are simple to use, yet powerful enough to produce professional results. The iFORM Plug-in concept is perhaps a first in application design, and one which we think gives iFORM Designer the edge over its competitors and the flexibility to satisfy any form design and form filling requirement!"
